Amazing Swedish Women Develop Invisible Bike Helmet

Amazing Swedes Develop Invisible Bike Helmet

You know how it is uncomfortable and hot
wearing a bike helmet?
Bike helmets have not changed in decades.
They are ugly and rigid.
No one wants to get their brains splattered
all over the road, nor a few disfiguring scars.

I love hearing about innovative inventors and entrepreneurs.

And you won’t get ‘Hat Head’ wearing their invisible

When you see how it works
it all makes sense.
The clever solution that draws from a
number of technologies that are well-established
and familiar will astound you.

The design and engineering
of this amazing helmet is beyond great.
They are really good at getting funding too.
They have received over TEN Million $ in venture capitalism.

Two percent of motor vehicle crash deaths
are bicyclists in the United States.
72% of those fatalities are adults over
the age of 20, and no state has a mandatory
helmet law for adults
(although some cities have local ordinances requiring them for all riders).

So far the helmet is available only in Europe–sold
on the official site for €399 ($535)–and would need to meet U.S.
CPSC requirements to be sold as a helmet stateside.

This helmet is the one for me.
Expensive, but sometimes safety and fashion cost a little more!

To Your Success,

Karen

Insane Photo: Tardy Surfer Resorts To Cliff Jumping To Catch Up To His Competition

Tardy Surfer Resorts To Cliff Jumping To Catch Up To His Competition

It looks like it takes real commitment when you really want something, you go for it!
Hope you love this as much as I did!
The Postgame Staff.

A surfer in Santa Cruz was running late for his competition so he was forced to improvise.

That improvisation came in the form of a jump off a cliff 30 feet high and into the Pacific Ocean.

“He timed it perfectly,” photographer Allen Hughes told The Daily Mail.

The same could be said of Hughes, who captured the spectacular photo of this anonymous surfer in midair as a huge wave cascaded behind him.

Hughes was alert to the possibility that an intriguing scenario was unfolding at Lighthouse Point.

“Everyone else was watching the surfers out at sea, but then I noticed this guy running along Lighthouse Point,” Hughes told the Mail. “I watched for quite a while and before each heat the surfers would climb down to the end of Lighthouse Point and make a smaller 10 foot jump.

“I noticed this guy run down to the end, he was late for his heat.”

That was Hughes’ cue to lock in on him.

“I could tell he was anxious so I focused my camera on him and before anyone knew it, he ran and jumped off the cliff,” Hughes said. “He timed it perfectly and landed just behind the white water and paddled out. I never did find out who he was. The cliff itself must be 30 foot high and the waves were maybe higher.”

Although we can all marvel at the artistic quality of Hughes’ shot, it ought not to be overlooked that the surfer got away with a rash decision. Not to be a ghoulish buzzkill here, but the outcome could’ve been far less favorable.

Hopefully this was crazy enough to dissuade any copycats jumpers, and perhaps it can be a lesson to all surfers: Pay attention to the time.

For those hardcore photography buffs that might be curious about the gear, according to Metro, Hughes, 65, captured the moment with a Nikon D300S.

Tipping Servers $200, Wouldn’t that feel great to do?

Tipping Servers $200

The Joy of seeing someone’s
face when you reward them, is immeasurable.

Many times we are stuck in a rut
and can’t see clear to
give freely.

Sometimes Giving doesn’t have to come
in the form of Money, but time.
You can give the give of listening, doing
such as reading to children, adults who
need help in that basic form of communication.

You can also give back by writing FOR people.
By that I mean, there are lots of people have arthritis, shut ins..etc.

Or how about picking someone up and drive them
somewhere. Not everyone has a car, or is able to drive.
You were going to go do errands anyway, right?!

Check out how I am able to give back monetarily
to organizations,  and to people I know or live near in my community.
As well as giving back in time and help.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters organization gives adult volunteers (“bigs”) the chance to build lasting one-on-one relationships with children in need of caring adults in their lives [source: Big Brothers Big Sisters].

Many children’s hospitals rely on volunteers for activities such as tutoring patients, reading stories, monitoring playrooms and assisting families with whatever they may need during a child’s stay [source: Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia].

Most volunteer opportunities involving children will require a background check and a commitment to volunteer for a certain number of hours per week over a specified duration, such as three, six or 12 months.

In some cases, volunteering with children can be financially beneficial as well as personally fulfilling: Some foster grandparent volunteers qualify to receive a tax-free hourly stipend, and a growing number of public school systems offer seniors a rebate on property taxes in exchange for their time volunteering in the classroom [sources: Senior Corps, Garcia].

Back to the people giving a tipping servers $200,
any help and recognition is a good thing, and $200
would certainly help anyone!
I loved this.

Please comment and tell me what you think about
giving time and money.
Thanks, Karen

Reunions and Aging. Watch a girl age decades only in minutes

danielle-cnet-top

Years pass by quickly, and this morning
I stumbled across this article showing
Danielle aging from a child to a mature woman.

I am going to a 40 yr reunion shortly
and although we all think of ourselves as
young, or younger than our bodies are, this
film clip example will play itself out as we look
in admiration at someone who seems to have had
the great genetics or lifestyle to hold back the
hands of time. Or will we quietly think, omg
they sure aged fast..

This is a new video from filmmaker
Anthony Cerniello and it is so striking.
It shows a girl slowly and almost
imperceptibly aging decades in under 4 minutes.

“Danielle,” embedded below, was produced
with a team of animators and a still
photographer, Keith Sirchio.
The sound track is from Mark Revely.

Her face becomes longer, thinner, her bone
structure more defined, and then under eyes and
her skin, hair show signs of age, graying/thinning
as she seems to enter the middle years
of her life.

For Photo buffs, this is amazing work.

Last year, Cerniello attended his
friend Danielle’s family reunion.
He and Sirchio took portraits of
her relatives of all ages with a
Hasselblad medium-format camera.
After scanning the negatives,
they chose those relatives with
similar bone structure to create
a rough aging continuity.

Animators Nathan Meier and
Edmund Earle then knitted the
images together seamlessly, with
3D visual-effects artist George Cuddy
putting the finishing touches on the
remarkable transformation.

“I attempted to create a person in
order to emulate the aging process,”
Cerniello, a music video and
commercial editor, writes on his
Vimeo page. “The idea was that
something is happening but you
can’t see it but you can feel it,
like aging itself.”

Here is to aging gracefully and with style!
Thanks artists for putting this together.

What do YOU think of the video and of the aging process in your own life?
